In June 2011 Ray took on the challenge of talking about his passion for boxes at a Pecha Kucha evening in Derby. Pecha Kucha, which is a Japanese term for chit-chat, provides presenters with the opportunity to talk about their passion for exactly 6 minutes and 40 seconds against a background of 20 PowerPoint slides which move on every 20 seconds. Ray, who doesn’t normally do succinct, found talking for only 20 seconds per slide somewhat challenging. Ray’s talk, which he called ‘Epiphany on 7th Avenue’, went down really well, judging by the laughter and applause.
